Trial set for two members of the Fitzwilliam Hunt

A new trial date has been set for two members of the Fitzwilliam Hunt. Former huntsman George Adams and bird of prey handler John Mease were due to stand trial on the 5th December at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court for illegal hunting with dogs. The alleged incident took place on New Years Day this year. In addition John Mease was due to stand trial on the 8th December for animal cruelty charges. Both men are now due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court for trial on the 26th and 27th April 2017 where both cases will be heard at the same time.

Update: The trial of George Adams and John Mease has been adjourned until August and will now be held at Colchester Magistrates Court.
