Trial date set for Lamerton Hunt members

The trial relating to six members of the Devon based Lamerton Hunt is due to take place at Newton Abbot Magistrates’ Court on the 30th November 2015 and is estimated to last two weeks. Huntsman David Lewis, whipper-in Steve Craddock, joint master George Moyse and terrier men Gilmore Lewis, Wayne Bartlett and Stephen Mitchell are being prosecuted privately by the League Against Cruel Sports for hunting a wild mammal with dogs, contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004. The alleged incident took place on the 26th March 2014 when the hunt met at Holdstrong Bungalow, near Lydford, Devon.
