Quantock Staghounds huntsman Richard Down and whipper-in, Martin Watts are due to appear before Taunton Deane Magistrates’ Court on 21st August 2018, charged with offences under the Hunting Act 2004.
The alleged offences occurred on 22nd January 2018 on the Quantock Hills near West Bagborough, Somerset. Evidence obtained by investigators from the League Against Cruel Sports was passed to Avon & Somerset Police and the proceedings have been authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service.
