Middleton Hunt joint master faces fox hunting allegations

The case against Tom Holt, joint master and huntsman of the Middleton Hunt, was before Scarborough Magistrates’ Court today and was adjourned until the 12th February 2015 for trial. Tom Holt is being prosecuted for hunting a wild mammal with dogs, contrary to Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004. The incident allegedly took place on the 19th February 2014 at West Knapton, Malton in North Yorkshire. Holt pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge at an earlier hearing in September when he appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court. The case is based on evidence supplied by the League Against Cruel Sports and investigations carried out by North Yorkshire police.
