Claro Beagles huntsman in court on illegal hunting charge

Stuart HARRISON, huntsman of the Claro Beagles, appeared before Harrogate Magistrates Court on 3rd May 2018, charged with S.1 hunting of a hare. A ‘not guilty’ plea was entered and the case was adjourned until 17th May. A two day trial had been set to start on the 25th September 2018 at Skipton Magistrates Court and then was to continue the following day at Harrogate Magistrates Court. The trial was adjourned at the last minute until 21st January 2019 to be held at York Magistrates’ Court. The case relates to an incident that allegedly took place on the 21st October last year near Sicklinghall, North Yorkshire. Evidence was gathered by League Against Cruel Sports investigators which was given to North Yorkshire police for further investigation.
